Sand Dunes Engagement Session | Joanne and Brandon | Pismo Beach, CA

For Brandon and Joanne’s Engagement Session, we went on an adventure to the sand dunes in Pismo Beach located along the Central Coast of California. When we arrived to the sand dunes it was as if we were on another planet. I immediately felt like I was transported to some kind of scene from Star Wars. The gorgeous golden tones of the sand dunes created the perfect backdrop for their epic Engagement Session. We got quite a work out climbing up and down hills in the sand to capture the perfect shot! We had a pretty good laugh when Brandon emptied a pile of sand out of shoes at the end of the shoot! My favorite element of this location was the way the wind made Joanne’s hair swirl around her face. It added the perfect amount of romance! As a natural light photographer, this location was a dream to shoot.

Joanne and Brandon chose a beach setting at South Palisades Park for their second location. I loved the way the tide pools reflected the couple as they walked along the rocks. It was so much fun watching the pair hop from rock to rock like kids. Their playful nature allowed me to capture some beautifully natural candid moments as they giggled together. It’s clear these two have a great time together!

I’m so excited to capture their wedding at the San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts this May!
